Nearly 53,000 adults, seeking financial aid to go back to school, applied in the second round for a Project Working Mom scholarship. The eight accredited online schools participating in eLearners.com’s Project Working Mom 2010 program reviewed each of the applications and selected the scholarship recipients. The applicants had to submit a short application and an essay.

“I want my two girls to be proud of me. Everything I do is for them. They look up to me and I need to set a standard with my actions,” said one of the scholarship recipients in her winning essay. “They need to know how important education is for their future, but words can only do so much. Actions speak the loudest.”

eLearners.com first launched Project Working Mom in 2008 to help adults get the education they need to improve their lives and the lives of their families. A recent report released by the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce estimates that by 2018, 63 percent of all jobs will require at least some postsecondary education.

Now in its fourth cycle, Project Working Mom 2010 is particularly important given the current economic hardships many families face as a result of the recent recession.

Project Working Mom 2010 will distribute one more round of full-tuition scholarships this year. The next deadline for applications is September 30. To apply applicants must:

· Complete a short application at www.projectworkingmom.com.

· Write an essay describing their goals, instances of triumph over adversity and why online education is an ideal match for them.

Editors Note: To arrange an interview with a scholarship recipient, a member of Project Working Mom 2010 or a member of a participating school, contact Jenny Foust at 303.433.7020, 720.244.4268 or jfoust@csg-pr.com.
